Dr. Rashmi Singh, Dean, College of Biotechnology, Uttar Pradesh Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go-Anusandhan Sansthan, Mathura graduated from College of Veterinary Sciences, CCSHAU, Hisar in 1994 with a merit award. She did her M.V.Sc. in Veterinary Immunology from the same college in 1997. Thereafter, she joined as Research Associate in National Professor Laboratory (Rotavirus Molecular Biology), CCSHAU. After serving for a short period as Veterinary Officer in UP State she was selected on the post of Junior Research Officer (Vaccinology) in the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, GBPUAT, Pantnagar in 1999 as the first lady faculty of the college. She obtained her PhD in Veterinary Microbiology and Immunology with Molecular Biology & Biotechnology as minor subject as an in-service candidate in 2008. She was selected as Associate Professor in DUVASU in 2011. She has guided 11 master’s students and one PhD student in the discipline of Veterinary Microbiology and Biotechnology. She has handled five external funded projects as principal investigator and four as Co-PI from DBT, ICAR and private firms. She has 56 original research publications in journals of national and international repute and 54 other publications including review articles, book chapters, popular articles etc. to her credit. She has been awarded with NET (1997), CSIR-SRF (1997), UG and PG scholarships, ISVIB – GADVASU Woman Scientist Award (2007), Reviewer Excellence Award (2016, 2018), DBT-CTEP Travel Grant and INSA Grant (2017), IDP-NAHEP Overseas Faculty Training (2022), M R Dhanda Oration Award (2023) along with many conference awards. Her area of research has been on use of monoclonal antibody and recombinant DNA technology in diagnosis and vaccine development, antimicrobial resistance, studies on food borne pathogens, enteric viruses and FMD – control programme. She is the Nodal Officer for UGC and Covid-19 Testing Laboratory, DUVASU and is member of IAEC, DUVASU and external expert in IBSC, CIRG, Makhdoom. Dr. Rashmi Singh is also presently Head, Department of Veterinary Microbiology, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, DUVASU, Mathura.
