University has a full-fledged Department of poultry science which is located in the premise of poultry farm and was establsihed in 1972 with the objective of teaching undergraduate and post graduate students besides providing training to the farmers. Poultry farm has all the facility for maintaining broiler, layer, turkey and quail. All PG students of the university rear and maintain their experimental birds at the poultry farm. Training programmes on scientific poultry rearing for farmers, teachers, scientists are being routinely organized. Recently the University has started Poultry Production by students under "Enterprenurial Development Programme".
