Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine
Department of Medicine came into existence in 1950 and later postgraduate training leading to MVSc degree was started in 1962 and PhD programme in 1970. Department has made neormous contribution in the field of mastitis, opisthorchiasis, ancylostomiasis, post parturient haemoglobinurea, dermatoses and clinical efficacy evaluation of herbal anticoccidial, acaricidal, and tickicidal drugs. Department is also housing the State Forensic Science Laboratory for distinguishing the Cow and buffalo meat samples. Ambulatory clinic in the Department was started for the first time in July, 1959 to provide practical clinical training to BVSc&AH and MVSc students in the subjects of Medicine, Surgery and Gynaecology and provide medical aid to ailing animals of the nearby villages of Mathura and during every visit, on an average, 75 75 clinical cases are treated.
