Mandate & Mission
The Veterinary University in the state was established with the basic objectives and mandate of:
- Imparting high quality education in the field of Veterinary Science and A.H. and allied disciplines including fisheries;
- Undertaking basic and need-based research in the field of Veterinary Science & A.H. and allied disciplines including fisheries;
- Ensuring transfer of technology to the doorsteps of farmers and people rearing animals.
Presently, all the offices of the University, including that of Vice-Chancellor’s office, are housed in the Administrative Block of College of Veterinary Science and AH. Mathura. Veterinary College has almost sufficient skeleton structure in terms of land, space, buildings, laboratories, residences and hostels for boys and girls, teacher's home cum guest house, and a VI.P. Guest House.
As envisaged in the Act of University, in addition to the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, four other constituent colleges/faculties will be started in near future in a phased manner to generate trained and competent human resource.

Establishment of these Colleges will provide excellent opportunities to the students of the State of U .P. and other states to seek other professional degrees and vocational training in different fields of Veterinary Science and Allied disciplines to improve their career prospects.
Directorate of Research and Directorate of Extension Education have been established to give impetus to research and extension activities, respectively. In order to focus research on cattle, a separate Go-Anusandhan Sansthan will also be established in near future.
