Department of Livestock Production and Management
Department of Animal Management and Hygiene was established in Veterinary College in 1947 and since then, it has been imparting education to Undergraduate students. However, with the introduction of VCI system of education in 1994, the Department was re-designated as Department of Livestock Production and Management. Department apart from teaching to undergraduate students, also imparts instructional training to internship students and actively participates in extension activities of the University and trains farmers on various aspects of production and management of cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats, horses and poultry. Department is also maintaining some Kathiawari horses which are used for teaching purpose.
