Aris Cell

On 4th November 2004, University linked itself to INSAT-12 Satellite through Wireless mode. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. S.K. Garg inaugurated the V-Set and pressed the computer button to link Veterinary University with the world. Such a facility would not only prove to be a boon to the students, scientists and teachers of the University but also the farmers and animals –owners as their problems would be addressed by making use of the latest information in that field. Teachers, scientists and students will have direct and rapid access to the various online journals, which would be economical too. Indian Council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi has provided the financial assistance for this facility. ARIS CELL provides an internet facility to girls Hostels & VC residence through wireless network. ARIS CELL upgraded through router and other IT technologies.
Infrastructure-
a. Computer and Peripherals
It has been equipped with infrastructures like LAN server, Computer workstations, printers, and various software’s like- Photoshop, Acrobat Reader, etc. , E-mail and Internet connectivity through 512 KBPS VSAT is being used by more than 50 workstations with 50 CDROM Drives and various hardwares such as Laser and Inkjet and colour Printer, Scanner, LCD Multimedia Projector, OHP Projector, Modem etc. The website of the University www.upvetuniv.edu.in is hosted and maintained by the ARIS. It provides the information about all the research, teaching and extension activities of the university.
b. Communication facilities -
ERNETVSAT (512 kbps) was installed during 4th November 2004 under NATP-ICAR. This enables a direct satellite link INSAT-12 Satellite facilities for the use of PG students and research scholars. The Cell also provides facilities such as LAN connectivity to various offices of the University and all Heads of Department in the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry.
