Department of Animal Husbandry Extension
The Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension is actively involved in taking courses for Under-Graduate student of the college. The department is also organizing training and refresher programme for delivering information regarding new innovative techniques of animal husbandry practices, had participated in various Kisan Mela at Mathura District as well as at Kanpur, focusing on the various achievement of the Veterinary University and disseminating information regarding livestock production. The department is also involved in providing orientation programmes to the farmers coming to visit to University from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

IV. Detail of the teaching/ Research/Extension done by the Department:
A. Teaching:
Teaching was very efficiently done on different topics of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension for the Ist, IInd and VIIth semester students. The different courses are
1. AHE - 111 (Sociology & Principles of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension)
2. AHE – 121 (Livestock Economics, Marketing and Business Management) and
3. AHE – 411 (Extension Techniques in Veterinary Practices and Livestock Production)
B. Extension Activities:
The Department is actively involved in participating in various Kisan melas and also arranging Training programmes cum Exposure visits. The training cum Exposure visits of the farmers conducted by the Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension during this year (2009-10) were as follows
1. 10 farmers from Anooppur, M.P., were provided training under ATMA project on dated 27.02.2009.
2. 20 scheduled caste farmers were provided exposure visit on 03.03.2009 from Up-Sanchalak Kisan Kalyan and Krishi Vikas Vibhag, Raisen.
3. 30 farmers from Chandigarh were provided training regarding various Animal Husbandry practices on 04.03.2009.
4. 25 Women farmers from Gujarat came for exposure visit and training regarding various Animal Husbandry practices was provided on 04.03.2009.
5. 20 achiever farmers from District - Allahabad were given exposure visit under ATMA project on dated 16.03.2009.
6. 40 farmers visited under RKVY from Etah district of U.P. w.e.f. dated 22-23 March 2009.
7. 60 Livestock owners were provided exposure visit to this campus under ATMA project from Gonda district for technical upliftment of Knowledge.
8. 37 farmers were brought to college by an NGO name Forum for environment Agrotech and research organization, New Delhi, visited the university campus,
9. 10 farmers from Jalon district visited the college and gain knowledge in Livestock Production on 17th August 2009.
10. 30 livestock farmers from Kota, Rajasthan were given exposure visit on Animal Husbandry practices on 9th November 2009.
11. 50 Women farmers from Jaipur District visited the college and Clinics on 18th November 2009.
Participation in Farmers Fair/ Kisan Mela
1. The Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension had participated in Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Smriti Mahotsava, at Deen Dayal Dham, Farah, Mathura from 26th to 28th September 2008. The information regarding new innovative techniques of animal husbandry practices was delivered to farmers.
2. The Department had installed a stall in the DUVASU Kisan Mela on 09-10 February 2009 at DUVASU, Mathura. The exhibition depicted the latest technologies of the Livestock Production and handouts were distributed to the visitors free of cost.
3. The Department had participated in Virat Kisan Mela Evam Krishi Udayog Pradarshani at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur from 3rd October to 6th October 2009. The information regarding new innovative techniques of animal husbandry practices was delivered to farmers.
4. The department had installed a stall to provide information regarding new technology to the livestock owner in the Krishi Mela Evam Krishi Pradarshani at Kosi Kala, District Mathura from 24th October to 26th October 2009.
5. The Department had participated in one day Hindustan Kisan Mela at Gopal Baag, Raya, on 14th November 2009. The expert had interacted with the visiting farmers and has disseminated the emerging methods related to the livestock production. Along with this folder/ leaflet were also distributed to create awareness.
